Business Incubator

In my diploma thesis I designed a new office building in Brno. The building will function as a business incubator, so it will provide space for developing companies for favorable lease terms. While projecting the building I took into consideration future changes in dispositions. Part of the building has a basement and it has one underground and four aboveground floors. The building is designed as monolithic ferroconcrete unit and it has reinforcing perimeter walls with unit core. The ceiling is made of monolithic ferroconcrete panels. The building has flat rooftops, ventilated facade and is based on piles.
Portfolio of IT Services in Startup

Goal of this thesis is identification of IT services structure and content inside startups. It defines basic terms and functionalities of examined subject and reflects influence of business incubators on composition of IT services portfolio. Goal is achieved by two accesses to solution, which complement each other. Firstly, there is summary of information from literature and internet resources, which make basis for practical research. It had form of interview with 5 randomly chosen startup representatives. Some of them were during research in incubation process, some of them after it and some of them have never attended in such a process. The contribution of this thesis is that it shows common elements of IT services portfolio in different startups, based on data from praxis, which I could not find in any other literature. Thesis is structured in to couple of logically connected parts. First of them is called 'Startup'. There is defined this, in literature not very commonly used, term. It show lifecycle of startup, its legal form etc. Next chapter, "business incubators" shows institutions, which actively helps to found new startups. In this chapter, there are defined activities, which occurs inside the incubator and relation between incubator and startup. Third chapter is about IT services. There is specified what is their contents and what does their categorization look like. Based on first three chapters was formed methodology, which were used during research in each startup. In a last chapter, there is compered influence of incubator on IT services portfolio and announced results of research.
Incubation Processes in Selected Organization

The thesis is focused on the benefits of process management in startup incubators. The thesis aims to identify the existing cycle of incubation process and subsequently also aims to propose the optimal incubation process within the incubator Point One located at the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague. Identification and mapping of business processes of this organization should ensure more efficient management of incubated projects in the future. In the first part of the thesis theoretical bases are developed, which were obtained from the literature dealing with system analysis and also with identification and modeling of business processes in the organization. Subsequently the thesis introduces different approaches and developments in business management from the oldest functional management to the process and project management. The second part introduces the incubator Point One, located at the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague, along with the services offered by this organization. The author together with the manager of the Point One incubator analyzed the current state of the organization and also identified its business processes. Business process analysis is based on the method MMABP (Methodology For Modeling And Analysis Of Business Process). Such analysis clearly defines and maps the processes of Point One incubator. Based on this analysis, the proposals of optimal organizational processes are designed.

The bachelor thesis "Analysis of business incubator" deals with the topic of support of businesses in the Czech Republic, mainly the usage of business incubators as a tool of support. The thesis summarizes said issues and describes types of business incubators, their function and history and thoroughly focuses on describing how business incubator Point One, which belongs to the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague, operates. It concers the reasons of creating the incubator, how it is financed, conditions of admission, its members and offered services. Based on that the thesis includes SWOT analysis which judges the functioning of selected components of business incubator Point One and also the incubator as a whole. The SWOT analysis results in suggestions of adjustments in the incubator's programme. The thesis is based on the author's personal participation in the process of incubation.

Factors for successful admission to the accelerator xPORT

The goal of the thesis Factors for successful admission to the accelerator xPORT is comparison of factors of success from startup point of view in business accelerator and professionals working in accelerator. The first part is focused on different types of support for startups. The second part summarizes general information about xPORT VŠE Business Accelerator. The third part is devoted to important factors for successful implementation of projects. The last part contains the analysis of questionnaire survey and the main recommendations.
Competitive environment of business incubators in the Czech Republic

This thesis deals with application of Competitive Intelligence in the environment of business incubators in the Czech Republic. The main goal of this work is to analyze the competitive environment of Czech business incubators and draw conclusions leading to a possible increase of their competitiveness. The theoretical part describes the competitive intelligence including selected analytic methods, the support system for development of small and medium-sized enterprises, the role of the state in their support and aspects of innovative business. The following part deals with characteristics of business incubation, basic division of business incubators and their importance for the development of SMEs. It then describes the history of incubators in the world and the way they operate in the Czech Republic, including description of basic services provided. The practical part analyzes broader competitive environment throughout the country, using Porter's five competitive forces model. Then there is a complete list compiled of all operating and planned incubators in the Czech Republic displayed on a map, divided into different regions. There are six incubators selected for a thorough competitive analysis in the Central region and the city of Prague, which are the regions with the strongest competitive environment in the Czech Republic. Based on results of analyses mentioned above, there is a set of final recommendations on how to increase the competitiveness of Czech business incubators and to get overall improvement in business incubation.
Entry of small and medium-sized enterprises of Czech Republic to European markets and selected instruments of their state and private support

This bachelor thesis deals with development and history of small and medium-sized enterprises in the Czech Republic and their entry to European markets. The aim of this thesis is to analyse selected instruments of support of state and private institutions. The biggest attention is paid to CzechInvest (with operation programe OPPIK 2014 - 2020) and CzechTrade agencies and also to EGAP and ČEB institutions. This thesis also deals in detail with business incubator "South Moravian Innovation Centre" and opportunities which this centre provides to small and medium-sized enterprises. In the end of the thesis is evaluated one concrete company, its activities in South Moravian Innovation Centre and its reasons for expansion to foreign markets.
